We catch up at the Health Optimisation Summit London, where Ben just wrapped up his talk and what marked the start of his 2019 European tour. Buzzing from the learning, curiosity and intellectual debate of this event, we managed to grab Ben in a reflective and philosophical headspace.
It was a true pleasure, even if in a loud and hot arirbnb (that’s central London for you!). Sorry upfront, but it does as a certain ambience to the audio. 😉
Ben Pakulski has redefined his career to one focussed on thriving, wellness and living your best life. His podcast and overarching website Muscle Intelligence is considered one of the best resources out there, and has a huge loyal following. Ben pairs experience, drive, intelligence, and an insatiable curiosity to make for great conversations of discovery and reflection.
Ben is on a mission to navigate and curate the burden of noise in the self-optimisation space, in order to personally find and share the true value with his audience. He is not only looking for the what, but also the who. "Who does this apply to?…"
As expected, an awesome conversation. I wish we had more time, but we managed to have a deep and valuable conversation. There are some powerful concepts shared by Ben in this episode, that have the potential to move the needle in your Mindset, Life and Training - immediately!

In this episode, we have the wonderful Sally Fallon Morelljoin us from the Weston A Price Foundation. Sally is one of the foremost global leaders in nutrient-dense ancestral living through respecting and returning to our traditional diet, and is driven by a truly noble and caring cause.

Sally is the Founder and President of the Weston A Price Foundation, that she setup in 1999, as well as a best-selling author. The Weston A Price Foundation is held in high regard by global nutritional leaders, often considered the definitive source of traditional nutritional wisdom. Those who attempt to return full health and human potential back to western societies usually cite the work of this foundation.
The foundation showcases and extends the brilliant one-of-a-kind and unrepeatable work of of Weston A Price, a dentist, who travelled the world observing the contrast in diet and health of indigenous tribes when compared to modern western cultures. He performed observational studies, nutritional testing, took thousands of pictures of indigenous people, and hypothesised that the departure from traditional nutritional principles was the leading cause to the health issues we were (and are ) seeing. He is most famous for documenting his findings in the his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.
In this interview, Sally introduces us to the key principles of a nutrient dense diet through describing Weston A Price’s observations, talking about the myriad of issues in the modern diet and guidelines, and placing a positive emphasis on our need to embrace saturated fat.
Most of all, Sally argues strongly for the need to take full responsibility as adults on the health of our children, and just how important a nutrient-dense diet is to their development from preconception through to a young adult. This is a heart warming and convincing plea, backed up with logic and science.

We’re privileged to have the fascinating, incredible and wise Chris Duffin on this Episode.
Chris Duffin is a multiple world-record holder in the power lifting and strength arena, where he has pulled 1000lbs for multiple reps, squatted 800lbs for 30 day straight and many other feats of awe-inspiring strength.

This is another episode where we will challenge your world view of good nutrition. Today, we’re speaking all things OXALATES, with specialist Elliot Overton.
Why should you care? Is this quackery BS? I think you should listen in and decide for yourself…
Oxalate is a mild metabolic toxin found in most plants to varying degrees. Unlike other phytonutrients or molecules like gluten and lectins, Oxalates cannot be broken down by the body or detoxified by the liver. It’s eliminated… or accumulated.
Oxalates are found in high volume in many of our so-called superfoods of today - including Spinach, Cocoa, Beetroot, Sweet Potatoes and Almonds. Whilst these foods and many others have a great reputation for their health benefits, it turns out we’ve been omitting one major downside to copious all-year-round consumption of these foods - Oxalates!
In this in-depth two parter (Ep. #91 & #92), nutritionist and functional medical practitioner Elliot Overton walks us through all you need to know about this insidious yet anonymous bad actor in ‘healthy diets’. She’s back! Michelle is back on the mics to represent women and mothers - a skill I’ve yet to master!

The 100 Day #BeYourBest Self-Optimisation Journey is almost done! A true Labour of love, and one I am so excited to share in Autumn 2019!

We’ve got the YouTube star Frank Tufano on the podcast today. He’s known for his mostly raw Carnivore nose-to-tail diet, his entertaining videos taking down vegan propaganda, his deep nutritional knowledge and his ancestral appreciation to living optimally within our modern day lives.
People that follow me on social know I can get triggered by the bombardment of vegan propaganda, and that I oppose the plant-based arguments posed around nutrition, animal suffering, and sustainability. That I feel we are all being duped for the benefit of profits and flawed ideology.

With 22+ years experience and wisdom, Sal combines forces with Adam and Justin to make the most entertaining, original, raw and real podcast on all things to do with getting in shape, sharpening your mindset, being well and generally navigating modern life.
Mind Pump & Sal inspired AdapNation’s creation, so it was a true privilege to be speaking with one of the Podcast Host greats. You’ll probably sense some of Steve’s fan boy love coming through!
We cover sooooo much in this chat. The theme of the discussion is really about finding a place of intuitive wellness and wellbeing, and Sal navigating us through his learning and journey from an muscle-obsessed kid through to a jacked but ill 30 year old, and now to having the whole package of physique, wisdom and great health.
Sal drops so many pearls of wisdom. You’ll love his appreciation for traditional wisdom, his intuitive approach to wellness, and his great analogies.
DISCLAIMER: Steve was REALLY ill at time of recording. Energy was a little low as a result. We used this episode to unpack what might be going on given his recent diet interventions. It was pretty fascinating to discuss and explore with the audience and Sal - and goes to show the value of being open minded, being comfortable being vulnerable, and seeking opinions from others.

Food is so political and emotionally charged, albeit we don’t often stop to realise just how engulfed food actually is with politics. The reality is, food availability, production and choice has been a driving force behind a lot of our historical disputes and conflict.
However, it does feel that the debate around food is reaching fever-pitch, and this is largely driven by the popularity and well-organised messaging of the growing vegan community.
And whilst debate is healthy and necessary to advance and create better solutions, the vegan propaganda fuelled more by ideology and questionable / fallacious ‘facts’ is creating an incredible divide and hurtful judgement and social pressure. Where belief is the driving force - not real-world practical evidence and workable solutions.
So, in this podcast Steve and Bryn look to answer the question “Should it be Veganisim vs All other choices, or should it be Big Food vs Real Food?”. As I continue on my journey of leading the best life possible, a common theme seems to keep coming up time and again. EVOLUTION.
More specifically, it seems to be that it’s the Evolutionary Mismatch which is at the root cause of all our physical health, mental health and environmental issues we suffer with today. Through technology, power, money and the desire to control everything (including life and death itself), we’ve stumbled so far off the beaten track that we have alien-like new world views that ignore the prior 2 million years of human evolution.
